The changing dating market and Love Stuffs changing expectations. Look at it this way.
20 and especially 50 years ago, what did most women want? Usually just a stable guy, with a job and a decent personality.
Some women had super high expectations and some didn’t, but average expectations were lower before the age of the Internet, Tinder and other medias that put out unrealistic views about relationships.
Some studies on Tinder have shown that unless a man is very attractive, had a lot of money and/or high social status, he has little advantages:
Put it this way. The 80/20 rule is much more extreme in dating for men.
I would say 5% of men have 90%+ of the options. Remember back to your clubbing and bar hopping days, which for many people here was before the age of the internet.
If you remember, 80% of men would struggle to get anything, serious of casual. Sure, they would occasionally get something, and Love Stuffs sometimes get a girlfriend, but they wouldn't regularly get something.
10% of guys would do quite well, 5% would be very well. Then 1 in the friendship group would be getting most of the dates, serious and casual stuff. 1–2 people in the group were `over subscribed` with interest.whatsapp status | hindi status | fb status | attitude status | love status | romantic status
Women are more selective than men. Or more shallow, depending on how you look at it. Look at these stats:

Women rate about 80% of men as either ugly (27%) or unattractive (the 31% and 24%). About 12% as average, 5% as attractive and 2% as very attractive!
Then look at how men rate women at the top! The difference is, 20–30 years ago women were settling more. These days, many women want to get married and have kids, but will only do it if `their standards are met`?
Often times even average looking women have high standards, because let’s face it, even attractive women do try to get with average looking women, especially after a few drinks…..
However, most men who are inside the top 5% in terms of looks and/or wealth and status (sometimes all three), have the pick of the market.
So when women make big demands from those men, they are less likely to accept them than the average man.
Or put it another way, why would a man who has 20–30 options accept unrealistic demands from a woman? The CEO of JOP Morgan’s famous reply to a gold digger illustrates the point perfectly -The Gold Digger and the CEO
That is not to mention that most of the most desirable men understand that marriage is a risk, and financial arguments are one of the key reasons for divorce - Top reasons for divorce and breakup. That also comes from super Love Stuffs high expectations.
Ultimately, most men and women are, by definition, in the average range. Whether that is under average, average or slightly above average, most are in the bottom 65%-70%.
At best above average, but nothing special. For 70% of the population. However, especially with the younger generation, they have grown up being told they are special.
This is a bigger issue on the female side as the stats above show, but also an issue on the male side too, for millennials in particular.
The only thing stopping this situation getting worse is that people do (still) tend to eventually settle.
Before many women settled at 25 or 28. Now it is more likely to settle at 30 or 35 when/ if they are desperate for kids.
